1. The packaging was designed thinking of the necessary protection and aesthetics of the products.

2. I designed my proposal based on the functional materials for different kind of requirements. There are packagings used exclusively for merchants and others for the clients who want to make a present to a friend
   or relative.

3. If the authorities of the Mercado Artesanal de Guayaquil could encourage the merchants to explore their uses of natural fibres and material, they could offer other options of attractive and functional packaging.
   
   

A Cardboard boxes

A1 Cardboard box with printed logo

1. Considering that: the board is inexpensive, storage is simple and can be reused more than once, achieves excellent impression on its surface, and that the traders often use it to moving their products, I suggested that the
   managers of the Mercado Artesanal de Guayaquil acquire cardboard boxes with the logo printed on them
   
   
   
2. The packing tape consisted of transparent or light brown tape with the logo printed.

A2 Stamp

1. Additionally each box had to have a stamp for quality control. The text of the stamp reads: Producto (product), Cantidad (quantity), Lugar de origen (place of origin), Fecha de envio (Date of sending).
   
   

A3 Shaped cardboard box with logo

1. For fragile small products made of ceramic, tagua nut, glass, mud, etc. I suggested to use strong cardboard boxes slightly shaped with the silhouette of the logo face icon.
   
   
2. This box has the logo printed on front and a text printed on back of the package. The text read: "En el Mercado Artesanal de Guayaquil encuentras artesanías de varias regiones del Ecuador. Además puedes conocer sobre los materiales y los procesos de fabricación de estos productos, que constituyen una de las más valiosas riquezas de nuestro país. ¡Bienvenido!" (In English: "In the Mercado Artesanal de Guayaquil you can find handicrafts from various regions of Ecuador. You can also learn about materials and manufacturing processes for these products, which constitute one of the most valuable resources of our country. Welcome!")

B Paper Bags

1. These bags were made for small gifts. They have been cut following either the shape of the hands or hat logo.
   
   

C Plastic Bags

1. The design can be used on bags of other material such as white, Kraft and recycled paper.

D Packaging for presents

1. Sometimes clients demand a better presentation of packaging especially for gifts. I suggested creating a stall or small shop inside the shopping centre only for gift wrap proposes. The clients would have to pay a minimum extra fee and it would increase the customer service.
   
   
2. I suggested the creation of packaging using the logo and its shape of hands, fibres, face hand-printed, embossed, knitted, etc. over materials such as: cotton, natural fibres, wool, alpaca, recycled paper, balsa wood among others.
   
   
3. Also I designed gift cards with logo and text printed. The external text read: "Al comprar esta artesania apoyas el trabajo de manos ecuatorianas, gracias". (In English: "When you purchase these handicrafts, you are supporting the work of Ecuadorian hands, thank you"). And the internal text reads: Para (from), De (to).
   
   
4. Finally I designed pompons with fibbers of wool and cotton.

D1 Basket for gifts

1. Handmade with natural fibre (sisal), balsa wood (base) and wooden beads.

D2 Basket for lollies

1. Using a standard mimbre basket, I included pieces of balsa wood in order to make the division of the package. From the base, a glue cellophane paper, in order to cover the packaging.
   
   

D3 Bags handmade with natural fibres

1. Using cotton, wool, jute and cabuya (sisal) I handmade samples for bags that can be used for big long products such wood and balsa wood hand-carved products.

D4 Gift wrap

1. I designed a simple pattern with the icon of the logo printed in Kraft paper.

D5 Jute bag for paintings

1. I handmade a cylindrical bag with jute and an internal cotton lining for transporting canvas and other products such maps, leather paintings, etc.
