Interior Signage
  1. In the interior signage proposal I included a zoning plan, that consisted in dividing the shopping centre in different sections depending on the products offered, to help the public for easier and quick orientation. Some of the section names that I suggested were: Tagua (tagua nut), Cuero (leather), Piedras (stones),
    and Ceramica (ceramic).

  2. In order to contribute to the zoning, I suggested giving a name to each corridor of the Shopping Centre. The names, such as: Palo de balsa (Balsa wood), Marmol (Marble), Cuero (Leather), Artesanos (Artisans), Algodon (Cotton), among others, which are the same names of the materials used by artisans
to make handicrafts, will help to create an atmosphere where the name of materials, fibres and handicrafts play the principle role in the signage (visual codes).

  3. In the internal signage I suggested to use, when is possible, a natural material (such as bamboo) for the elaboration of directories.

  4. Each entrance/exit access had
a number assigned. In total there were nine.

E "Artesanito" structure directory

  1. The "Artesanito" structure were created using the icon of the logo in handcarved in wood (top), bamboo (structure) and MDF signs with information about the sections and streets inside the shopping centre.

  2. In total there were eight structures, with double side views. They were located just
few metres from the entrance/ exit of the building so people could easily identify the way
    that they need to follow.

F Street signs

  1. I designed street names to be located in the superior corner
of each block and corridor of
the shopping centre. These signs had the same name that the Sections signs (explained above).

  2. The materials suggested for the construction of these signs were MDF and varnish.

G Shop signs

  1. In the superior part of the door of each shop I suggested to locate shop signs with the number of the shop hand-painted in both sides of the sign.

  2. Also, for the Council control (because frequently there are inspections where they required the name of each shop's manager), I suggested to locate in the right superior corner, just above the shop's door, one sign with the name of the manager and the first initial of the name of the section where the shop is located. It would save time
at the moment of make inspections.

H Section signs

  1. In the corridors, just in the middle of each section of the shopping centre, I suggested
to locate signs with the name
of each section. In total there were nine on the ground floor and four, on the first floor.

  2. Each sign was made with MDF board and the words where MDF pieces cut and then decorated with adhesive vinyl.

  3. The adhesive had textures similar to the section's name that it represents: cotton,
    tagua nut, leather, wood, etc.

I Upstairs signs

  1. I suggested to locate a structure beside the stairs, to indicate to people about the sections on the first floor.

  2. In total there were two structures, contructed with bamboo cane and MDF board with handpainted words.
